5 fab things this week #19

Yay, its half term. I’m looking forward to a week of lay-ins (well, you never know!) and some lovely days out. Fingers crossed the rain stays away otherwise I might go stir crazy!

We’ve had a lovely, busy week, with a good few days and afternoons out. The children have definitely been sleeping well so maybe they’ve used up all their energy for once!

Time in the garden

It feels like a bit of a treat to be able to get in the garden at this time of year but the weather was gorgeous on Tuesday so we made the most of it.

The little chairs came out for the children to eat their snacks on, the golf clubs came out to hit balls about and we brought the ride-on toys out too. Lots of fun had under the blue October skies.

Trip to the local playground and park

We headed to the local playground on Thursday afternoon, so Bodhi could get some fresh air, having been in all morning.

It was so quiet there, perfect, as they spent as much time as they liked on the swings and merry-go-round (both love this now meaning aching arms for me, lol).

Charley then made us play hide-and-seek in the park, telling us where to hide! Love a 3 year olds game of hide-and-seek.

A trip to Alice Holt

One of our favourite places to go locally is Alice Holt. Its such a great space for children with loads of different things to do for all ages. We had a great time there, you can read my post on it here.

Sorting out clothes

My husband took the children out for most of the day on Saturday so I could have a major sort out of my clothes.

I’ve managed to get rid of 4 bin bags of clothes and shoes.

My wardrobe is now colour coded (get me, bet it won’t last long) and my drawers are no longer full of things I don’t wear.

I feel so much better for being a bit brutal, I’m hoping I’ll find it easier to get dressed in the morning! We’ll see.

Breakfast in bed, as ordered

The clocks went back and I cunningly put my daughters glo clock back an hour when she went to bed in the hope she wouldn’t get up too early. Thankfully, they both did quite well staying in bed for a bit.

Then, my daughter ordered me to stay in bed (to have some peace- I wonder where she gets that from?) and some breakfast. Brilliant. I can’t remember the last time I had breakfast in bed. It wasn’t the most peaceful but it was a treat nonetheless.

How was your week?

Did your children get up early with the clocks going back?

I love a comment and I always try and reply to all

  1. Aw, going to try and get my tot trained up to bring breakfast in bed asap. Sounds lovely. I organised my cupboards and chucked loads this holiday too. They look a little bereft. Probably should try and scrape together some pennies to bulk it up at little but gosh how I hate shopping!

  2. Saw you’re blog on #twinklytuesday – What a fab idea with the glo clock, I’ll have to invest in one for the future. I somehow lucked in this year and the little one slept till 8.30! Just think if it had been the day before….

  3. FOUR BIN BAGS FULL???!!! Crikey — I’m brutal when I have a sort out but if I sorted four bin bags I wouldn’t have any clothes left!!! 🙂 Sounds like you had such a lovely busy week. I absolutely LOVE the feeling I get after a good clear out or Ebay selling mission!! Good for you pet 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with us on #TwinklyTuesday
