I started blogging to capture memories and milestones of the children. Bodhi is still at an age where his development changes on a monthly basis, so I wanted to record these times before I forget them.
Weight & clothes size
He’s about 22lb, though he won’t stay still on the scales so the needle doesn’t stay put.
Bodhi’s tops, vests and pyjamas are now all size 12-18 months, although some are still a little long in the arm. He is still in most of his 9-12 month trousers, a few still need rolling up!
We’ve just bought another pair of shoes for him, size 3 1/2 F. He was pretty good at having his feet measured. I thought he might not like it, as he can get a bit funny with strangers.
He still has 4 teeth at the top front, 3 at the bottom front and there is one on each side at the back coming through. Although he has his fingers in his mouth a little, they don’t seem to be bothering him that much.
Bodhi is still sleeping really well, we’ve been very lucky with this. He still has his nap about 10.30 in the morning and goes off without any trouble. In the evening he needs a few cuddles, but its still very rare that we will need to go into him in the night, and if we do its generally to give him a quick cuddle or pat on the back (and make sure he’s got his teddies).
He is still a good eater, though not with vegetables. However, he does eat tomatoes and cucumber so I can’t complain too much.
Bodhis favourite foods are grated cheese, pom bears, grapes, pears, kiwis, bananas and ice-cream.
He can now say mumma, dada, duck, stuck. Also very good at shaking his head for ‘no’ and starting to nod a little for ‘yes’.
He also says ‘gone’, as in when his food has gone!
He’ll also say ‘brum brum’ when he sees cars and ‘bu’ for bus.
Still loves the ride-on zebra, red car and pushing Charleys pushchairs.
Loving sitting at the children’s table with all the pens, mostly taking the lids on and off, but also doing a little bit of scribbling.
Brushing his teeth, splashing in the bath, kicking in the swimming pool.
Swings, slides and merry-go-rounds at playgrounds.
Charley sitting on him and jumping up and down (mummy not soooo keen!)
Having things taken off him that he shouldn’t have.
Being away from his mummy.
Very into mummy, won’t go to anyone else easily. Got so upset when I went out with my husband the other night, he cried himself to sleep on my dad. Poor little chap.
With most other things he is very easy going.
He will get his changing mat, nappies, wipes and his shoes and socks etc when asked.
He seems to want to be quite helpful at the moment, long may it last!
What are your little ones up to at 17 months old? Do they say many words?
