BakerDays Letter Box cake review

Imagine my delight when I was asked by BakerDays to review their Letter Box cake for them. Not only was it a yummy cake to try it was also my first review, how amazing is that?

We chose one of the Christmas Letterbox cake designs. There were so many designs to choose from it took quite a while to decide but I finally chose one and sent the personalisation details off to BakerDays.

They also print photos onto the cakes, which I would have chosen if I’d had a photo with both children smiling!

Within a few days I received a small box in the post, in perfect condition, which contained a gorgeous tin and a cracker.

Inside the tin was the scrumptious looking cake! The cake was vanilla sponge with buttercream.

There are 6 delicious flavours to choose from: vanilla, chocolate, fruit, Half & half, gluten free and dairy free. (Website details with all the options are at the end of this post.)

Now I just had to wait for Charley to come home from nursery so we could all try a piece! Charley is also rather partial to cake and I was looking forward to seeing her face when she saw that it had her name on it. She’d probably think it was her birthday!

After tea that night we opened up the box and Charley was delighted to see the cake inside with her name on it. Bodhi was very excited too!

I pulled the cracker with Bodhi as Charley doesn’t like the bang (though I had to end up doing it myself!) and Charley was delighted to see a ‘crown’. There were also stickers in the cracker so she happily put these on the crown.

The children each had two small slices. Charleys first didn’t seem to touch the sides before she was asking for another piece whilst Bodhi was busy eating the icing off his piece first.

I had a small slice which was moist and soft, with a lovely icing covering it. It truly was scrummy. My husband has a generous sized piece waiting for him when he gets in, that I managed to keep, though the children were keen to eat that too.

It would make a great gift to send to a friend on a special occasion.

I'm mum to Charley and Bodhi. I blog about days out, craft hits and misses and parenting stuff . I also talk about my daughters diagnosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (kids get arthritis too, yep they do) and her progress.
