5 fab things this week #26 xmas

Week 26 already, it must mean I’ve been blogging for 6 months. Where has that time gone!
We’ve had a busy week of activities, Christmas parties, mum meet ups and shopping. Wow its a busy time of year! Struggling for photos this week too for a change.

Reduction in eye drops and a first injection

We had a follow-up appointment with the ophthalmologist regarding Charley’s uveitis diagnosis (inflammation of the eye). He said it was better and so reduced the number of eye drops to twice a day from 3. Fortunately we are in a good routine with them now!

Due to Christmas Day falling on the day when Charley has her methotrexate injection (and being away the week after) the local nurse suggested training me to give the injection to Charley so she doesn’t miss any weeks. I’m glad to say it went really well and Charley didn’t even realise that I’d given it (the nurse assured me it had gone in!). So after Christmas, assuming all goes well we might be doing the injection ourselves. Eeek!

Pantomime

I took Charley to see her first pantomime this week, Jack and the Beanstalk. I really enjoyed having some mummy, daughter time. Unfortunately, it seems that Charley was still a bit young for panto as she spent the entire first half sat on my lap, mostly with her hands covering her eyes. She didn’t take to the baddy, Dastardly Dick who came onto stage first. Hoping next year will go better as I really enjoyed it.

A christening

We had a lovely day out at our friends childs christening. Lovely opportunity to get dressed up for once, including high heels! Crikey, its difficult to get a decent shot as a family. I think Bodhi might have to have his first trip to the hairdressers (sob sob!)

A present from Father Christmas

Bodhi went to his first toddler playgroup Christmas party. He had a great time playing on all the ride-on toys and then Father Christmas appeared with presents for all the children. No tears from Bodhi, yay, and then there was a little party lunch for all the children. A great fun morning!

Film snuggles

Charley was very lethargic on Saturday after her swimming lesson so we found a Christmas movie to watch and snuggled on the sofa (whilst Bodhi charged about with his toys!), love snuggles on the sofa!

Hope you’ve had a good week!

  1. At least doing the injections yourself you are able to do them when you want. Good about the eye drop reduction. You could just insist on a small amount of bodhis hair being cut! Charley will probably be different about pantos next year and will be happier about the baddie.
